Faith in the Home

What does it take to have a spiritually vibrant home, and why does it matter?  In this 4 week series, we will be exploring how faith that is practiced and embraced in the household is a faith that flourishes.  By looking at different locations inside the home and what we do there, we’ll discover how Jesus kindles a relationship, grows that relationship, and opens doors to his mission while giving us a foundation upon which to build faith in our homes.

Money Management

If you struggle with money, you’re not alone. Money is such a hard topic to talk about with anyone, and yet we struggle with financial questions and stress every day. Couples fight over it. We’re often ashamed to admit where we’re really at financially, and that’s true if you have money or if you don’t.

Many people have no idea what God has to say about your money except that you think he wants it. Jesus had some astonishing things to say about money, things that might actually provide help in an area of life you might be struggling in.  Whether you’re deeply in debt, are just getting by, or have more money than you ever imagined, managing money for missional living will change the way you approach your finances.

Life Is Better Connected

The journey of faith looks different for everyone. Everyone shows up on Sunday mornings on a different part of the map of faith. However, there are three crucial parts of faith that we want all Connect Groups to be formed and normed by: experience community, encounter Jesus, and engage others. No matter where God’s people are in their faith, they can lean on these three major concepts of the Christian life for hope, comfort, and growth. This series will serve as the foundation for the weekly Connect Group gatherings for the remainder of the 2023 calendar year.

Neighboring

We often hear the command “Love your neighbor as yourself,” but what does that mean exactly? It’s easy to love the people closest to us (well, sometimes it is), but how well do we show love to the people we come into contact with at the grocery store, on the highway, on social media, or even those people who live right next to us? How do we treat those who are different from us, who deliberately wrong us, or seek to harm us? Jesus gave many examples of how to show love to others through his teachings, healings, and interactions with the men and women he met during his earthly ministry. In this four-week series, we will look at his example, as we ask one question, “How do I neighbor well?”

Dealing With Different

When we look around at our world and our local community, we’re seeing an ever increasing shift away from Biblical principles and values.  To be a Christian today and in the future means that we are going to look and be more different than ever compared to the surrounding culture and people.  Living faithfully means living differently and recognizing that we are still called to engage the culture in which we have been placed.  By looking at the life of Daniel we’ll explore how he and his companions engage with their context while in exile yet remain faithful to God.
